Death Note

I dont own death note in any way. Always wanted to write this
-note that this starts off sorf of in the middle of the final episode of the anima so if ur confused refer back to it. All i did was change the ending the way i though was better. Starts with mikami stabbing himself.

Silence. Mikami stood watching his so called "god" in defeat.

No..does this mean..he is not truly god.. Though Mikami.

The though of this was far too much. The pen he had used to write the peoples name in…it was still in his hand. His blood was rushing his heart was pounding. He raised it quickly and plunged it into his heart. The pain was great. His scream echoed in the building. As fast as lightning everyone ran to him. But it was too late. He was dead.

Then the sound of feet being dragged as his Mikami’s screamed died out reached everyone ears. Light was escaping. The taskforce members all ran forward but it was pointless for a scream was heard from outside. Even Near looked up to see. Suddenly Light can back into the building. His teeth clenched and sweat running down his neck.

NO..NOO! NO! You…your suppose to be dead! Yelled Light. I KILLED YOU!

Wha… what’s going on? Said Matsuda.

What the hell are you playing at Light? Yelled Aizawa.

We are about to find out…. Said Near.

As Light lay on the floor his breathing heavy and the blood from his bullet wounds spread around him a shadow appeared by the door.

Who could this be. Stay ready. Said Gevanni.

Light… I see I was right. Said the mystery person.

Wait...that voice…it cant be. Said Aizawa

Show yourself! Yelled Matsuda his gun ready.

Damn you! You can’t be here! YOUR DEAD! Yelled Light crazily.

Very well Matsuda I will show you who I am but I must say I am disappointed that you can’t tell who I am…. Said the mystery person.

The shadow moved closer to the door as Light backed farter and farther away, still throwing a fit. As the person walked in the task force members found themselves awestruck. What they were seeing was impossible. The SPK was confused for they had no idea who the person was.
No need for the startled faces I assure you I am not dead. Said L.

It was true. There stood L, the greatest detective ever who was suppose to be dead right now.

…No you are dead I was justice and I killed you! Screamed Light.

Oh, im sorry I haven’t introduced my self properly. I am L. Said L to the SPK members.

Near sat on the floor soaking this all in. He and Mello were to be the chosen as one of the successors of this man but never had he ever seen him. He had spoken once at whammy’s house but we didn’t see his face. There was something about L…it was similar to Near. Perhaps it was emotionless face they both shared, it didn’t matter. The point was that he saw that he was similar to L. Just like Mello had said.

Light is right, you died. How could you be here? Said Near.

Yea, we saw you die right in front of us! Said Matsuda.

A clever performance wasn’t it? Said L

Confusion spread around the room as everyone tried to understand what was said. There was no way that L could have fooled the shinigami that killed him. Several seconds passed then L told the Taskforce members to tell the SPK members how he had died so they to could understand this.

Alright L we told them now explain how you are still alive. We all want to know.

Near never really paid much attention to things but even this sparked a slight amount of excitement in him. Something he rarely had. L began his story.

Well I think you remember the day when I told Mr. Yagami, who I am sorry to hear about his death, that if I died that he should believe his son is Kira. Well by then I had all the proof I needed to believe Light was Kira. So a few days prior to telling Mr. Yagami about him to suspect his son I remembered something. Whammy’s house. I still needed to pick a successor. That’s when a plan came up. I could see that Mr. Yagami refused to see his son as Kira and honestly some of you were to. I decided to do the rest of the investigation alone. So the first thing I needed to do was to find a person with the death penalty before Kira did. I got lucky and I found one. I didn’t want to tell him everything but it was the only way. I told him I was L and I needed help on the kira case and if he helped he would no be killed. He agreed quickly. Then I travled to America to do a new thing they started there. It was to make his face look like mine. It wasn’t plastic surgery. It was something more lifelike. They need some tissue and blood from my body. It made his face really become mine. It wasn’t like a mask. It became his true face. Now came something a little more tricky. He had to have a chip installed into his brain so he could do what I told him. After that was done it was time to go back to Japan. Upon returning to Japan I went my way and told the look alike to go to Taskforce headquarters. I think you know how to rest goes. So while this was all going on I was actually doing two kira investigations. I would help the taskforce through the look alike and I did my own investigation elsewhere. I know what your all thinking. Why didn’t I just tell you that I wanted to leave the taskforce? Well the truth is I didn’t want to I just needed to do some things by myself because most of you didn’t accept me believing Light was kira. But the main reason was something else. The issue at Whammy’s house. Like I said I needed to choose a successor and Near and Mello seemed to be equally skilled. So the main reason I needed to make this look alike was in order to look like I had died. That way I knew that Mello and Near would both attempt to look for Kira. I knew Mellows dislike to working with Near would make them work alone. Yous see? Me dieing was the final test for you Near. You and Mello.

…Of course. I should have known you weren’t dead…. Said Near.

Anyhow right before my look alike died I suggested he try to figure out if some of the clues were fake. You see the 13 day rule just didn’t seem right to me. Anyhow before this happened my look alike died. So I found another criminal and he wrote a name in a piece that I had the look alike send me after I though of the plan which was about a day before he died. So I tested this and I was right. The rule was fake. So from this I learned that the shinigami can lie for the ones that own their books. Only more proof that Light is Kira. Then a few years later Near and Mellows enter the picture. I had actually stopped my investigation until they came along. You see I couldn’t go back if I wanted Near and Mellows test to continue. But without being close I could get no information so I just waited until they began the hunt for kira. I used there new clues and our old clues to conclude that Light was kira. They both had no idea I was keeping tabs on them or that I was taking there clues. I got them from people working there. Im not going to give any names though. Those people may help in the future. So as soon as I found out that Light was kira I waited until Near set up the trap which we are all here.

Wow. I would have never though such a feat was possible. Said Aizawa

You were right you would do everything to solve the case. Said Matsuda.

Well I say I make my leave now. I just came to tell you I was alive. I suggest you watch out it look’s like Lights about to pass out. Said L

He spoke the truth. Light was slumped against the wall passed out from the pain. As the task force members and SPK members watched Near and L sat to the side. Suddenly out of nowhere came Ryuk.

Leave him. I am going to kill him anyways. Said Ryuk.

What? I mean he deserves it but he needs to be tried. Said Matsuda.
His time has come and I must kill him as he has written in my book. I once told him I would be the one to kill him and that time is now. Said Ryuk

Ryuk rose his pen to his death note and wrote Lights name in it.

I had fun Light. I look forward to seeing you in the shinigami realm. Said Ryuk.

There was 40 seconds of pure silence then Aizawa checked his pulse to confirm he was dead.

Well I guess this is it. Said Matsuda. Aizawa, Mogi and I will join the police force again.

I though you would but might I add that some day if I need help again I will call on you. Said L.

Thank you. They all said. Goodbye for now.

And the taskforce members left the building.

I suppose we should leave as well. said Gevanni. Farewell and may we meet again. He said as he and the other SPK members left.

Left in the building was Near and L.

Near… you are my true successor. Mello did not make this far. He helped I know that but you made it here. Said L.

I know. Said Near.

C’mon lets go. Said L.

What? Said Near.

Lets go Near together you and I can solve cases together. No better detective team in the world. Said L.

Oh..Yes lets go.

And they both left.
